This is daft.

KBS has a report on how the Korean Maritime Ministry has placed their national flag underwater near Dokdo to cement their claim.

The Maritime Ministry said Tuesday it successfully installed a Taegeukgi made of copper 23 centimeters wide and 13 centimeters high. The copper flag was placed on the Ulleung Basin underwater at 36 degrees and 40 minutes north latitude and 130 degrees 30 minutes east longitude on October 28th.

Korea’s unmanned submersible Haemirae placed the flag at a site 2,050 meters deep by using its two robot arms after a 90-minute vertical dive.

It will no doubt look impressive to the passing algae.
