The controversy about rejected U.S beef imports into Korea is growing. Now we have a new twist in the tale and we know how everybody loves a conspiracy.

The Korea Times has a story in which the U.S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Under Secretary Chuck Lambert was quoted by the Australian broadcasting company as saying

We’ve asked to have the bone chips returned, some people have suggested DNA sampling or other means of trying to determine the origin of those bone chips.

Also in an unofficial comment by a U.S official a suggestion was made that

South Korea may have planted the bone chips as an excuse to keep American beef out of the South Korean market.

The plot thickens.
